Quite a bit better for the game releases this past week.  You can only go up from a week that saw the disastrous launches of the new Assassin's Creed and the Master Chief Collection, right?  In Far Cry 4, you get a familiar formula in a game that gives you the tools to have your own fun.  Though it's not drastically different mechanically from Far Cry 3, why mess too much with something that works so well?  In Smash Bros. for Wii U, you get a long awaited entry in a beloved franchise.  Nintendo spent extra time on Smash, making sure everything was super polished and balanced and it really shows.  You also get to hear Eric's thoughts on Smash, who has been an outspoken critic of the series' past entries.

Episode 146: Child of Light

We talk about the very anticipated Child of Light for this week's episode.  For the first time in awhile we all played the game our episode subject is on, so you get to hear the perspective of all of us.  Child of Light is the $15 JRPG (sort of a JRPG anyway) from Ubisoft with stunning art style and music that is amazing and a perfect compliment to it's subject.  We get into whether or  not we think Child of Light is more than it's pretty face as well as respond to some the criticisms levied against it.

Episode 144: Child of Light Preview

Just Dan and Will this week as everyone's schedules fail to sync up again.  For the episode, we do a combined regular episode along with one of Dan's Watch Out For episodes and do a Child of Light preview.  For a little different flavor, we play the audio from some Ubisoft youtube videos going behind the scenes for Child of Light where the developers explain their thought process behind some of the mechanics and art direction of the game.  Playing the videos also gives the listener some delightful ear candy, as the Child of Light soundtrack is quite spectacular.
