Episode 136: 2014 Four in February Finale

For this year's Four in February we went a slightly different route and selected games for each other from the ole backlog.  The final game was voted on from among three choices by the community, and the result couldn't possibly be more varied.  We had one that barely even started their games, one that beat one and played most of his others briefly, one that cut it really close, finishing with under an hour left in February, and one that finished with relative ease.  You could probably guess from the handy graphic (within) which is which, but listen on to find out the how and why of our decisions, as well as thoughts on these games.

Episode 135: Bravely Default

Now that all of the Athletes own a 3DS, it makes it much easier to cover our bases when it comes to new releases on the handheld.  Bravely Default is a game that would have been covered even if only one of us had played it, as it targets fans of the older Final Fantasy games.  It blends the old school feel of turn based combat and excellent Final Fantasy-esque job system, with more modern amenities like auto saves, great graphics, and street pass integration; throw in the Brave and Default system to add another level of strategy to combat, and you have the makings of a great RPG.

Episode 82: Top 5 Shooters

With the lack of Corey this week and Four in February still going strong, we decide to tackle an easy top 5 this week and pick our 5 favorite shooters. To clarify, this doesn't necessarily just mean FPS games but also third person and various hybrids will also work, as long as the primary game mechanic is......shooting. We're also trying to avoid talking about the same games over and over again so we try not to bring up our top 5 or 10 games of all time in these lists. I'll have to get a list going someplace on the website so we can keep track and make sure not to keep revisiting the same games over and over. We also plan on revisiting our favorite games lists at some point, as they've no doubt changed somewhat over the course of the last year and a half.
