We briefly cover two new releases this week, the first being the AAA release and newest entry in a classic franchise, Mortal Kombat X.  Eric covers MKX for us, and as a disclaimer, we approach the fighting game genre from a noob perspective with the exception Will and the Smash Bros. series.  Eric's thoughts on MKX are from someone who hasn't played much Mortal Kombat since the 2nd or 3rd games in the series, and whether or not MKX is worth the $60 price tag for a non fighting game fan.  Dan and Corey then briefly talk about Titan Souls because....there isn't a ton to talk about.

Hotline Miami 2 / Ori and the Blind Forest: Thumbstick Athletes Podcast Episode 190

For this week's Pod we cover two indies that just came out, as well as briefly cover some of the indies coming out later this year that we happen to be looking forward to.  For Hotline Miami 2, you get essentially more of the same gameplay, as well as a butt-load more variety in character types and environments.  For Ori and the Blind Forest, a stunningly beautiful Metroidvania platformer that's more difficult than it initially appears.  As for indie coverage, we talk about quite a few of them that are coming out that we happen to think look neat.  Absent from our discussions is anything about No Man's Sky...we've talked enough about that already!

Dying Light: Thumbstick Athletes Podcast Episode 185

Dying Light had all the signs of being a steamy turd; a delayed release, late review copies for gaming media, and delayed physical versions of the game in some parts of the world.  The red flags were too much for Dan, who ended up cancelling his pre-order for a digital copy on PC.  Luckily plenty of people were playing on Twitch, and trusted personalities in gaming culture were all seemingly enjoying their time with Dying Light, alleviating any fears of a crummy game and allowing Dan to purchase it without waiting for the reviews to slowly filter in.  Find out what Dan and Corey thought of Dying Light on the PC, and Eric on the PS4.
