I think everyone is starting is to realize that the first-person shoot genre in gaming has gotten relatively stale as of late.  Specifically the multi-player FPS seems to have been recycled and rehashed to death, so it's nice to hear when developers are trying to change the pace a little.  Last year it was Titanfall who tried to shake up the genre with mechs and parkour tossed into the standard multi-player affair.  This year it's Evolve's turn to tweak the formula with asymmetrical 4v1 multi-player where 4 players team up to take down an ever evolving, giant monster.  Will takes the lead in this episode, giving a rundown of the characters, abilities and gameplay and the conversation turns to DLC later on with Evolve's strange implementation of of their season pass and different versions of the game.

For this week's episode, we cover a familiar series with a new setting.  Where the previous 5 Civilization games take place in the general timeline of Earth's history, Beyond Earth is basically Civ set in the future, with delicious Sci-Fi nuggets sprinkled here and there.  Dan and Corey, the Civ fans on the show, both spent a considerable amount of time playing Beyond Earth during their Extra Life stream, allowing for a quick turnaround between release date and having the episode on the game.  Will also got some Civ in too, and offers some perspective of someone not as familiar with the series.  Later on in the episode, the three present relay their Extra Life experiences.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is just that, the game that takes place before the sequel of Borderlands.  Exploring the back story of BL2's infamous villain Handsome Jack, The Pre-Sequel takes you off of Pandora for the first time and onto it's moon, Elpis.  Like the Earth's moon, Elpis has no oxygen and is light on gravity, making for some fun times.  But is it different enough from the previous Borderlands games to feel fresh?  Dan and Corey spent a decent amount of time with it, even doing something the Athletes always say they will do and never quite get around to doing......co-op.  (gasp)  And a fair amount of it too!
